The Power of Writing Without AI
I’ve been writing a few articles today and I think there is something increasingly valuable about writing without AI
It’s because writing is a craft, it’s a skill, and the more you do it, the better you become at it.
The friction and challenge of writing is what makes it valuable.
Writing is also thought.
When you write, you are putting your ideas out, developing them, and you can understand them more clearly.
You can go back to them, re-read and improve them and deeply understand them, and come to profound truths that you couldn’t have got to before.
When you write things yourself, you discover things.
And when you use AI to write, it weakens it because it “averages” it. It’s what an LLM model predicts should be next.
There is something about the writing process that is inherently valuable in itself.
It’s almost spiritual.
No AI is going to come out with an article like this. (Unless you sat a million monkeys down as the shakespeare infinite monkey theorem goes)
I’ll share it with AI for feedback but I’ll take it or not depending on how valuable it is.
I don’t expect any or many people to read this, and I’m writing in notes format, that I can repurpose or improve for sharing.
