We are Universe Beings
We often have this idea that humans are somehow separate from the world and environment.
An example of this is how we often feel we have to struggle against the world.
Even our economics is built on an assumption of scarcity.
Humans is what the universe has created as a result of emergence.
Emergence is the idea that something new and unexpected arises from simpler parts coming together - and the new thing has properties that none of the individual parts have on their own.
Carl Sagan said that minds is what the universe creates so it can experience itself.
So we are very much a part of are a result of the universe rather than separate from it.
We are made from stars, we are stars, and we are not separate from them.
This gives us a sense that instead of being humans we are universe beings.
If you are not separate from the universe but an expression of it - then the universe isn’t something you’re struggling against. It’s something moving through you.
You are built from the universe.
The scarcity, the competition, the grinding effort - those are stories built on a mistaken premise.
Helps us to think bigger than ourselves.
AI is another example of emergence and abundance.
There are huge opportunities and abundance everywhere and it is growing and improving..
You don’t need to force it.

The reality underneath is abundance. Connection. A vast, creative force that has been producing novelty and complexity for 13 billion years, and hasn’t stopped.
You are part of that.
Einstein used to say that time was an illusion.
Einstein used to think that we live in a box universe. The past present and future all exist at once, we are just experiencing it like we’re watching a movie.
Is free will an illusion? In some way it doesn’t matter.
Free will could be a combination of determinism, random, and choices we can make.
The process of reasoning, reflecting, imagining alternatives and choosing based on values - that’s real, even if it’s part of a larger causal story.
Another theory is that we were created to be more aware of the present, because that’s what we can control and affect.
